The Traveling Wave Fault Location System TFS 2100 provides accurate fault location solution for transmission and distribution power lines.
The TFS 2100 traveling wave fault locator, determines distance to fault by measuring the time for a surge to travel from fault position to measurement point. The fault distance measurement error is less than ±150m typical regardless of the line length.
The TFS 2100 consists of Traveling Wave Data Acquisition Unit TDU 100 installed in substations, a Master Station Software deployed in the control center and communication network. Each TDU 100 can monitor up to 4 lines, hence when more than one TDU 100 is installed in a substation, a Data Processing Server DPS 100 is used to collect traveling wave data acquisition units and communicate with the Master Station.

The purpose of the continuous on line diagnostics is to highlight incipient problems before these can cause power system outage with the goal of better handling maintenance intervention. In order to achieve this goal it is necessary to set up a continuous monitoring system: any further off line tests with dedicated test equipment can be programmed depending on the actual apparatus conditions.
ISA has developed EDS- Expert on line Diagnostic System for the continuous monitoring of substation devices.

We are glad to announce the new Advanced Protection Relay Test Set DRTS 3 Plus that is going to replace the DRTS 3, which will be discontinued since December 2008.
The new DRTS 3 PLUS has the following advantages in comparison with DRTS 3:

With the new BSG 1000 option for both CBA 1000 and CBA 2000, it is possible to perform circuit breaker timing test with both sides of the CB grounded. The grounding connection is NOT removed during the test, as it has to be with conventional test equipments.
Safety is becoming more and more important, and several laws and regulation all around the world prescribe that, in high voltage installation, all parts which are to be worked on shall be earthed (grounded) and short circuited.
To improve personnel safety, to reduce hooking time and to preserve the test integrity, the use of a BSG 1000 is the best solution.

We are proud to announce our new development, the IEC61850 interface for relay testing with Ethernet-based substation communication protocol.
The standard IEC 61850 describes the communication of devices in substations. IEC61850 messages coming from the devices connected to the substation network (such as a relay) are also called GOOSE. GOOSE messages describe binary status signals over the substation network and are also used for relays tripping . For relay testing applications within IEC 61850 substations it is necessary to access to these data. This new feature is performed by ISA Automatic Relay Test Set DRTS 6 and with the new software TDMS rev. 5.01.
By means of a dedicated hardware upgrading and a new software, ISA DRTS 6 can expand his testing capabilities by handling those IEC61850 messages.
The IEC61850 Interface option for DRTS 6 is required for relay testing with Ethernet-based substation communication protocol. The IEC61850 Interface is mounted directly on the front panel of the DRTS 6. It is possible to upgrade old DRTS 6 units.

A new Advanced High Current Booster for our primary test equipment T 2000 and T 3000 is now available.
The booster, in order to avoid losses on long connecting cables, is designed with a novel concept consisting of generating the high current close to the bus bar of the electrical apparatus under test.
This new unit is composed by a selectable number of transformers to be connected to T 3000 or T 2000 through a connecting cable 20 m long.
The current that can be generated is:
- 2000 A with one transformer configuration.
- 3000 A with two transformers configuration.
- 4000 A with four transformers configuration.
To connect booster and apparatus under test, a set of current clamps is supplied. Two different types are available according to the connection requested. For more information please contact us for the complete product specification.

The new TDMS 5.0 Release is now available!
Thanks to a new design the new 5.0 TDMS release improves the capability of using our automatic test equipment by enhancing the integration of the different software modules.
It is available indeed the possibility to create and run a test plan by using all the different modules; it is available also the possibility to save and print directly into the data base after the test is done and many other features.
The “Program Control Tab” now has a new layout:
• Relays Test Plan and Editor; with this new features we give the user the possibility to create and run different test plan for different test application. Test Plan Editor is available to create a test plan using predefined macro functions. This new feature is particularly useful for testing multifunction relays. The “Test Plan” can be associated to any relay in TMDS Network Structure. The “Test Plan”, can be run on a specified relay: the entire test plan can be executed and/or the user can select the macros to execute on that relay according to its needs.
• Finally the “Test Plan” can be printed and saved automatically into the TDMS database.

Download the latest version of TDMS Test and Data Management software platform (Rev. 4.22) in order to enable the new functions for CBA 1000, T 3000 and T 2000.

TDMS is a powerful software package providing data management for acceptance and maintenance testing activities. Electrical apparatus data and test results are saved in the TDMS database for historical results analysis. TDMS software organizes test data and results for the majority of electrical apparatus tested with ISA test sets and related software.

The CBA 1000 is a unique equipment for the complete test of all circuit breakers. It is a powerful timing and motion analyzer equipment including a 200 A pure DC micro - ohmmeter for static and dynamic contact resistance tests. The unit is supplied with CBA - PRO software for test results analysis and reporting.

Starting from September new releases of ISA's software will be available for all our customers. Z.Pro and X.Pro will be those with more enhanced features; but also R.Pro has been improved with impedance locus characteristic. Furthermore, our company is also proud to introduce in the market the first release of ''Swing Pro'' Software. With this software; the user, of our automatic test set, will be able to test and verify out of step and power swing blocking for generator protection and distance relays. As usual, all the updated softwares can be downloaded free of charge by our valuable customer.

From now these instruments will be equipped with a new important test: Resistance of Tap Changer Contacts. This is a dynamic test that allows the user to verify the correct working of the tap changer in any kind of power transformers. With this new feature, T 3000 becomes an even more complete test instruments for the maintenance and commissioning of substations. This test is also available on T 2000.

Fulfilling its mission to be leading-edge provider of advanced test sets; ISA Company has now developed a new version of its well known single phase test set T 1000. Our company is always ready to improve and develop new features on its instruments upon specific clients requirements and future market coverage. This new version, named T 1000-C, has been required from our customers in Far East and North America and the new available characteristics are: two auxiliary contact and the on/off button on both auxiliary ac and dc voltage generations.

This is a new transformer test set developed by ISA. T 2000 is suitable for testing CT's, PT's and power transformers. CT saturation, ratio and polarity test. Voltage withstand winding resistance measurement and many other tests are available with this unique test set.

ISA is proud to announce a new product development. T 3000 is a unique solution for all testing operation during commissioning and maintenance of substation, as it allows performing the test both of all type of relays and of current, voltage and power transformers. It allows also testing energy meters and transducers. T 3000 is also an high current injection set and microhmmeter. In addition T 3000 is a powerful multi-meter and phase angle meter, with oscilloscope functions.

This new accessory allows synchronizing two automatic relay test set for end to end test of line differential and distance relay inter-tripping function. This apply to all ISA and other manufacturers automatic relay test set.

We have added the 300 V option (to be specified at order). This range adds to the standard ones; also, the power is 80 VA at 300 V and at 125 V: this means two amplifiers in one.
