New TDMS software release 7.1.0 and added functions to STS 5000 test system

NEW TDMS SOFTWARE RELEASE 7.1.0
The new TDMS - Test & Data Management Software release 7.1.0 is now available for download on ISA web site download areaTDMS platform is fully compatible with Windows 8.1 and the new Windows 10 operating system.
The main new features are:
> Updated Overcurrent test module with enhanced fault simulations
> Updated Distance 21 with V constant test method
> Updated Comtrade module to drive external current boosters AMI 332 and AMI 632 up to 12 currents
> Enhanced library for distance and differential relays of the main protection relays manufacturers.

 

 > New set up program simplyfing the management of the update process of TDMS platform.

 

> CBA PRO software for circuit breaker testing- Advanced management of test sequence. Now it is possible to create complex sequences of test that can contain also infinite loops of test cycles (the registration of the events during the test execution is optional).

 


 

TDMS - PROTECTION RELAYS SOFTWARE

> Library - It's now included a wide transformer differential and distance relays library of the main manufacturers.

> Automatic import of relay setting fileISA also implemented the possibility to upload the relay setting file of the main manufacturer (ABB, SEL, Alstom, Siemens, Toshiba, GE), generally available in XML, CSV, xRio and txt format, directly and automatically into TDMS relay libraries, including a wide range of protection relays. This new function allows considerable time saving as the nominal characteristics are automatically created.

> New Transformer Differential 87T test module
A completely new way of testing for transformer differential protections is now possible. In few steps the user can easily set up a complete network model for the best fault simulation: Power Transformer vector group, Earthing transformers, Current Transformers connections (wye, delta) and YDY Interposing transformers for a proper phase and zero-sequence compensation.

It is also included the possibility to test the Harmonic Restraint characteristic in the plane harmonic[%]-Idiff.

 

 
   

 

 


NEW FUNCTIONS ON STS 5000 TEST SYSTEM - available from September 2015

> Power transformer testing:

New OLTC (on-load tap changer) Dynamic Winding Resistance Testgraphical representation of the current and resistance waveforms acquired during the tap changing after an UP or DOWN command, directly displayed on STS display using PADS-Power Apparatus Diagnostic Software. The graphs of the three phases are automatically overlapped for a quick identification of the faulty taps. Is also possible to zoom the waveforms for a detailed analysis.



Short circuit impedance: it's now possible to perform tests of Short Circuit impedance on the Primary and SecondaryTransformer winding.

> CT and VT testing:
IEC 61850-9: introduced Ratio measurement of non-conventional CTs and VTs according to the international standards IEC 61869-9 and protocol IEC 61850-9-2LE.

 

> Enhanced timing test: introduced advanced Trigger Start and Stop conditions in manual measure, both for Binary triggers and Analog triggers with threshold conditions.

> Step & Touch test with test frequency different from line frequency to avoid electrical noise. Step & Touch test wit STLG option can now be operated both at line frequency with Synchronizing option or at 80 Hz.

> Line Impedance test: a new test function is available on STS test sets in connection with STLG (module for ground testing and line impedance measurement) and STSG (safety grounding module) for the accurate measurement of line impedance, earth coefficient, mutual coupling, zero sequence impedance.

> PADS - Power Apparatus Diagnostic Software has been enhanced to support all the above mentioned new functions.


 

> Patented technology for Capacitance and Tan Delta Measurement
ISA has obtained the patent for the method of measuring dielectric losses in power transformer. The invention concerns a method of measurement of dielectris losses in power transformers and HV apparatus, using an innovative unbalanced bridge circuit.
